Security checks before using credit card?

Steps to keep you Credit card safe from Misuse
credit card security

The credit card is a much maligned and revered instrument occupying space in everyone’s wallet. It can be misused easily by anyone if they have acess to you credit card details as with the growing market of online purchases it is very easy for a fraudster to misuse your card. It has many advantages and disadvantages both depending on how you use it, the security issues of owning and using a credit card need to be taken seriously.

STEP 1: Be careful with your personal information. Don’t share details like your official date of birth, mother’s maiden name amongst other such information. Don’t share your credit card number either. Especially don’t reply to phonecalls and emails supposedly from your bank or credit card company asking you to share your personal info.If anyone has access to the above information then they can easily change the details over phone and then can misuse your card without even you getting a alert.

STEP 2: Get your card swiped for billing in front of you. If you use your card a lot at petrol pumps or you dine out a lot, then preferably scratch out the CVV numbers (last three digits of the number on the reverse of your card). Memorise the CVV number for your transactions or note it down somewhere safe. One of the most common cases of credit card fraud is of petrol pump attendants and restaurant staff using the data on your card along with the CVV number even if they are themselves not indulging in such activities, they can very easily sell such data to fraudsters.

STEP 3: Use the transaction alert facility with your credit card company, so that you are aware the instant your card has been used for any transaction. A fraud can still be committed but you can atleast take corrective action immediately and avoid paying for charges not your own. Keep the credit card company helpline number saved on your phone and call them to check any discrepancy.

STEP 4: In fact you should go through your card statement in great detail the moment you get it and call the card company for any transaction or charges that you don’t understand or make. Preferably get online access to your credit card and keep checking it off and on to be sure only activity authorised by you is taking place.

STEP 5: Use only sites that are safe and legitimate, and that have a secure payment gateway that starts with ‘https’ and not ‘http’ this ensures that your data is being sent in an encrypted manner and hence is protected. Look for a locked padlock before going ahead with an online transaction. Do not use public computers for online shopping or transactions if in emergencies you have to use computers other than your own, then delete the cache information, don’t save passwords and use the screen keyboard to enter your passwords.

STEP 6: A credit card protection plan is an insurance cover against loss, theft and fraud of credit, debit, ATM, membership or loyalty cards. It makes sense, especially if you travel a lot, or need to entertain socially and professionally basically if the usage of your cards is high and by nature you are not very meticulous, careful or cautious.

If at any point of time your card is misused then you can always go in for a chargeback but this takes time and a lot of effort. It is always better to be safe than sorry.

Apply online for PF transfer, withdrawals from July 1: EPFO

Over 50 million subscribers of the retirement fund body EPFO will be able to apply online for transfer and withdrawal of their provident fund from July 1, a move aimed at speedy settlement of claims.
"We have decided to set up a central clearance house which will be operational on July 1. This will enable subscribers to apply online for settlement of the withdrawal and transfer of funds claims," EPFO's Central Provident Fund Commissioner Anil Swarup told reporters at PHD conference.

"The biggest problem faced by the subscribers is transferring their accounts on change of job. This central clearance facility will expedite the process", he added.
The facility will enable subscribes to track online the status of their applications for transfer and withdrawals.
However, the EPFO's ambitious plan to provide permanent account number to all subscribers would be possible by early next year.
"It would be done in 8-10 months. Since the process of providing permanent account number to all subscribers will take time, we thought of setting up central clearance house first," he said.
Under the new system, the onus of verifying the details of the PF account from previous employers would be on the EPFO. At present, employees have to get their applications verified from their employers for settlement of claims.
"The onus of getting the detail of the PF account verified from employers would be on the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) in the new online system for transfer and withdrawal claims," Swarup said.

How to Kill a Lion !!! The Banking Way

Banking Strategies
Proud to work in a bank !!!! check this out

Many people choose banking as their career option but a very less know how to tackle a situation so guys this is just a way a banking system frustrates you and so be aware of this and and move ahead towards a successful career.

Banking on the wrong bank

HSBC Method:

Hire a lion. Give him full rest & make him lazy,
Pay him more than his expectation, never ask him to do any work for six months,
after six months tell him that now you have to fulfill your yearly
target within six months otherwise u will be kicked out from the jungle.

Lion dies due to fear,
that if he loses this "lazy animals jungle", where he will go.

ICICI method:

Hire a lion.

Give him hell lot of work and pay him lower salary than his politically astute peers.
Restructure his job, position, boss, colleagues, designation, department, salary, location every 6 months.
Remove all lions above 40 from the organization by giving those VRS. If he kills 2 goats a day, give him target of killing 20 elephants a day, when there are just 10 elephants in the jungle.
Lion dies of exhaustion, overkill and restructuring.

HDFC method:

Hire a lion and ask him to meow like a cat.
Give him lots of ESOPs and grass to eat.

He will die eventually of hope and starvation.

Citibank method:

Hire the lion, make him take 14 tests and tell him that if he doesn't score 90% he will lose the job.
Ask him to extract 60 kg meat out of a 40kg goat.

Lion dies of the strain.

ABN AMRO method:

Hire the lion.
Give him high impossible targets and expect a premature delivery of these targets.
If the targets are delivered, clap for him in a town hall and if not delivered humiliate him regularly.

Lion either dies of excitement or starts behaving like Tom Hanks in Terminal.

StanChart method:

Hire a lion; motivate him to outshine other lions in the jungle.
Load him with impractical targets and if he finds the prey, ensure jackals in the jungle snatch the prey and

the lion dies in oblivion......

Kotak method:

Hire a lion; load him with targets to focus on value instead of volume. Every quarter change the style and make his life miserable.
If he survives in the system reward him with a hefty bonus.

RBI Method:

Hire a lion and give him a 3000 page circular on how to kill a goat. Amend the circular at least three times a day.
Send him on inspection to the jungle, where he can threaten to cancel the hunting license of any fox, wolf, bear, jackal etc who have violated any provision of the 3000 page
circular.

Lion dies of boredom.

SBI Method:

Recruits a lion, gives him the power of mouse.
Lion dies of over expectation and no results.............

IDBI method:

Recruits a lion, Give him posting among cats.
People call him manager but he is actually a clerk.
Expect to work as allrounder.

Lion dies in frustration or escape to another jungle.

Deutsche Bank Method:

Hire a Lion. Tell him that you need to work most of the day ; half the night.
Also tell him that all the Lions in the jungle are doing it ; he shouldn't mind doing it. Tell him that the work he does would make him king, even though he would be paid like a pauper.
Change the look of the jungle twice in a year ; tell him there's a new challenge for him, although the animals  trees in the jungle remain the same (beats me.......what's the challenge).
Give the Lion some irrationally motivational talks ; tell him to wait till the grass turns blue in the jungle.
Lion dies waiting.

So best of Luck Guys!!!

Cheers !!!!!!
